Ada Lovelace is known for creating the first program for Charles Babbage's prototype of a digital computer or analytical engine. She has been called the first computer programmer by many people, and her creation of the program impacted computer science in a variety of ways, but most importantly, people today get to use computers that are much more advanced than back then and we get to continue to program and work in the computer science field. Ada is also known for translating and annotating an article written by an Italian mathematician and engineer named Luigi Federico Menabrea. The annotations and notes that she made in this article included her visions of computer science in the future where computers might just be used for more than math and computing. She was right! Today, we use computers for almost everything from programming and computer science to entertainment and almost anything else. We get to do all of this because of Ada Lovelace and her contributions to computer science.
